One of the things, that I learnt very quickly is that this process of getting a website, can be quite daunting for some.
I will take the time to listen to what you need and endeavour to find a way to make this process as easy and as problem-free for you as possible. When you create a budget for getting a website, you want to make sure it's money well spent, that's the best part of my job – to deliver just that.
Whether you're a start-up, a community group or a small business, many people don't have huge budgets to spend on a website. It is however, a much needed vehicle for the world to know that your business exists! Below is the skeleton of how I work:

What you need to do:
So the very first thing is to decide what your budget is. You may know how much you want to spend and if you do, that will help me to work out what I can deliver within that amount, or; I can simply give you a quote based on our first consultation. By the way, your first consultation is free of charge. Domain and Web hosting: You will need to register a domain and pay for the hosting separately. If that sounds like a foreign language to you, I'm happy to help you with this process. Copy: You will need to provide me with all the text you would like to go up on your website. This often where the process can stall, because this bit does take time, particularly if you are building your first website. I can help here by giving you timeframes or deadlines to work within so you block out the time to do it. It's a common hurdle - you've got enough to do running a business! But my experience tells me even the most organised small business owners struggle to find the time if they don't make time in their calendar. Images/Logos: When it comes to images, the same sort of obstacle can arise but this is where I'm able to help more than with copy. When we meet, I'll want to find out about you and business and get a feel for what sort of imagery/colours would work on your website. The aim is to have it reflect you/your business as much as possible. Again if this seems daunting, I'm here to help! I use a couple of sites that offer beautiful, copyright free stock images that I can take you through or I can give you samples for you to choose from so I know what you like. Alternatively, if you have any images of your own that you would like to use, by all means but just make sure they are copyright free. |
